These shoes are exceptional so long as you know what you're
getting. If your plan is to do minimalist running or
training to strengthen your legs and core, this is your
shoe. After my first run I was very sore in my calves and
hips, likely due to poor form. You can't strike the ground
like you would in other shoes. They demand that you hold
yourself up and strengthen your legs. I found I had been
cheating by using heel padding as a crutch. No padding here.
Also, these will appear too small at first. The EU sizing
concerned me. I wear a 9 EE in most shoes and got a 40EU.
These felt cramped and tight but after a couple runs,
loosened up to mold to my foot. It's better to have them
tight than loose. I dig the lacing system way better than
velcro. For a casual distance runner (3-5mi) I feel I get a
better workout with the time I can put in than I did with
other shoes. Plus, I can wash them when they get gross. If
you're afraid of hating them, you won't. Get them.

Excellent product. I thought they would be gimmicky, but
they really work and are worth the money. My feet got a
workout the first time I walked in these. *Follow
instructions* Slowly work your way up in these, don't just
put them on and start running. Just walking in them is
noticeably different. Already ordered the KSOs as a second
pair and my wife loves her Bikilas so much I just ordered
her a second pair.

I bought these for light weight traveling options. I now run
in them. They are so comfortable, I don't want to wear
regular shoes. The first pair had some of the decorative
'lacing' come off on the sides of the shoes and the toes.
REI replaced them without question. This occurred after
washing them. The current pair has not had the same problem.
4 star is only because of the issue with the decorative
